I have heard from other people that his first book "Power of Now" was hard for them, but that "A New Earth" had really drawn them in and was a great read. I did not find "Power of Now" difficult, but it is true that "A New Earth" is a different format than Tolle's first book (which is in question and answer format), and therefore is an enjoyable read. I highly recommend both of his amazing books. What he talks about could change your life. It is hard for the mind to be told about itself, and so I think this is what makes the concepts hard for some people. The mind knows that Tolle is on to it, and so has trouble letting in the information! Try it on yours and see what happens. If it really sinks in, maybe peace could become a reality.... | |

How to differentiate the two and when to realize which one is in charge. If mankind is to evolve to a higher/more humane level of action toward each other and know that just chasing after material things is not the right direction, then reading books by Eckhart Tolle or Wayne Dyer and the many others they both reference including Loa Tsu and the bible will hopefully raise the spiritual level of the whole. I purchased this book because I read "The Power of Now" referenced by Wayne Dyer in one of his books. I feel that one should read the thinkers of our time and times past in a hope to get oneself to a higher level of spiritual thinking and living. | |

I've been reading "new age" metaphysics since 1976, so I was skeptical. Turns out that Eckhart says nothing new in either "The Power of Now" or this book, "A New Earth." However, both boks are worth reading. Eckhart's special talent is to synthesize everything this still-unenlightened metaphysical junkie has already read, in a way that's finally starting to click. And he writes so that the "layman" can understand as well. I'm tempted to buy a copy for everyone I know. He even looks like a non-wordly being, a gnome, who knows, if not all, then a highly significant portion of All. Buddhists talk about "Beginner's Mind" and Christ about becoming as a little child. Eckhart fits the bill. | |

I read Eckhart Tolle's book "The Power Of Now" which I admit took me a little time to get through. It wasn't difficult reading, there was just so much to digest in a good way! I didn't want to rush through it and miss something. I've found over the years that Books seem to find me at the most appropriate times, and this was the case with "A New Earth". The book literally called me over to the book shelf it was on. I was driving and stopped at the store to get some water...I wasn't planning on buying a book. Something made me pick it up. I didn't realize what the title was, or who the author was until I was paying for it. Since I started reading the book, I've seen the world in a different light. I was beginning to lose hope. Certain things I was reminded of, which is always refreshing, but the book has brought me a new hope, new inspiration, faith, and I feel like I am a part of an awakening that is occurring. Trust me, you'll be glad you read this book! It's funny, I've been hearing more and more talk around me about this book. Even Oprah has it in her book club! NerdyBird | |

It gives practical advice for reaching a higher level of awareness and a way to bring meaning and happiness into the life of the individual and by extension, governments, businesses, groups, etc. A road map for bringing the human race into a more peaceful and joyous era, perhaps just in time. A very important and readable book. Everyone should read and study its message. | |

He is able to describe how we can control our lives by focusing on the present moment rather than being influenced by our past or worrying about our future, and in turn help to make this a saner more conscious world. | |

If you are Christian, it will help solidify your faith, if you are Jewish, Muslim,or of Eastern Religions, it will do the same. Sweet read before you go to sleep at night. | |
