A good read for anyone wanting to further themselves or enlighten themselves to there real dreams and aspirations. If you like this book, you'll also love "The Secret" and the "Finding Your Own North Star" books.

A Great Study Tool for those who wish to be enlightened

This book is a combination of things I have learned from, Wayne Dyer, Neale Donald Walsh, John Gray, Gandhi, and the endless list of enlightened authors I have read over the years. I do not believe everything I read, hear, or that I was taught as a child. I have learned to listen to many opinions and ideas, take what I want, and leave the rest. After struggling for many years and praying for answers, Eckhart Tolle shed some light on who/what I we really am. I always knew I was not, just, my human body. I have had experiences in my life that most would not believe. After reading A New Earth, I have a better understanding of why I am here, what I am seeking, and how to continue. This book is not for everyone, as you can tell by reading the reviews, but it is for me and many others. You will have to read it more than once. The videos, transcripts and audio recordings of Oprah's online class, makes for a great study tool. I highly recommend this book.

To me.... Nothing to write home about......

3 out of 3 people found the following review helpful. I went out and purchased the book when I heard Oprah singing it's praises. I sighed up for the online class she has going on. I really am not impressed at all by this book. People, just because Queen Oprah tells us a book is The best thing since sliced bread doesn't mean it is or that we should blindly go buy it and like it. This book is very New Age and it's not the easist stuff to "get into" and comprehend. It starts out very slow and you have to force yourself to keep reading hoping it will improve. It picks up some but I certainly wouldn't think this book was worthy of the best seller list or be so pushed by a celebrity like Oprah. Sorry... It's a below average to Average for this reviewer. :(

I am participating in Oprah's 10 week webcast to better understand some of the concepts. The writer Eckhart Tolle is clearly very intelligent and I feel compelled to learn more because I do feel strongly that he is on to something incredible with this book.

I am very satisfied with the book and its contents, and intend to do a indepth study of the information it contains. I would recommend it to anyone interested in being of use and living in and on New Earth.

The reading, though, is somewhat slow and difficult. The book is very philisophical. Not a good choice for summer reading at the beach or pool - it takes real concentration.

Life Changing Book

My stress and anxiety levels have decreased and I feel happier in almost every situation. I've been following along with Oprah's Web Event on Monday nights and have found that this helps me to dive into the book even deeper. This is a wonderfully written piece and I tell everyone I know how much it's changed my life.

Sorry - not worth it

2 out of 2 people found the following review helpful. Tolle writes in so much prose as to be too deep for anyone to grasp the concepts easily. I gave my copy away. I have friends who have gotton on board, but even they must read, reread, digest and then are still left confused. It's virtually impossible for the average person to NOT be in the ego all the time. Tolle has a lifestyle that allows him to do this. While many have had their "aha" moments, this book won't give it to me. Now, "Happier Than God" by Neale Donald Walsch is simple, direct (after the first 9 chapters) and gives you much more when the book is finished. You'll what to have a highlighter handy.
