Synopsis
The fascinating Arthur Spiderwick, great-great-uncle of the Grace children of Spiderwick Chronicles fame, has left a large, incredibly detailed, and very intriguing guide to enormous amounts of information about mystical creatures. From "around the house and yard" to "the hills and mountains" and even "outside at night," he describes a vast variety of fanciful beings. Among them are brownies, manticores, merfolk, knockers, and even those bizarre flying brutes, griffins. Notes on "The Invisible World," as well as "The Light" are provided, along with a list of equipment that includes milk, tree branches, and salt. With carefully rendered full-color paintings, sketches, and watercolors, as well as a list of resources, and an addendum from Jared Grace.
