| Christian the Lion - A rare gem | |

| 8 out of 8 people found the following review helpful. Following up on Born Free, I came across this gem. It follows the story of a small lion cub named Christian from his purchase at a London department store to his eventual release in Africa. He is accompanied by Boy, a star from Born Free who played Elsa's mate in that movie. It's pretty long and truly depicts how loving Christian was. If you love Elsa and her story or even lions in general this story is sure to entertain you. It doesn't earn a perfect however due to the rather poor quality of the footage in the begining. I have it both on VHS and DVD so I know it has nothing to do with the actual format. Good news is that it always seems to be just the first few minutes. Whether it actually got better or I just get so sucked in I don't notice I can't say. All in all, this is a great movie and should be watched by all animal lovers. | |

There is a happening, it's been building for decades, of humans becoming aware of the hearts and consciousness of the other animals we share the planet with. And I think that the animals are working to tell us that they have awareness, too, even if they don't write books or build spaceships. It is humbling, and heart warming, and brings forth many questions and wonderments. The story of Christian the lion is a wonderful chain of events and connections and intent. It gives one great anticipation for the great expanse of possibility and love. | |
