This is one of the most fascinating of Bob Dylan's albums. Unlike nearly any other regular Dylan album, there never seems to be any sort of theme running through "Down In The Groove". Six covers, two co-writes and two solo originals are what make up this pretty brief album, and all ten tracks are absolutely solid. This is truly a collection of songs from every direction that Dylan and his various bands just have fun with. And why not? "Down In The Groove" may not be the cd for a newcomer to Bob Dylan's work to start with, obviously, but it's hardly the artist's weakest album as some maintain. It's great music from start to finish. | |
