My daughter is an elementary teacher and I knew she would relate to the book and its stories. She will use it in her teaching. I had listened to Mrs Bush and Jenna on TV and I loved hearing them talk about the book and decided it would be nice to have. It was.

My 7 year old son and I enjoyed the book. Easy reading, offered topics for discussion; considering my son is so similar to the main character.

Tyrone Brown rules the school. He likes everything about it EXCEPT the library and class story time right after lunch. He keeps very busy doing anything but listening, until one day when the story's character comes into the classroom. The class moves on from picture books to a chapter book and miss the main character, a pig, when the story ends. They search everywhere for the pig, to no avail. Finally, Tyrone realizes the pig must be in the one place he never goes, the library. He finds the pig and wants to stay and read to meet other characters. You will enjoy the illustrations, which are full of fun visuals to discover when you read and reread the tale. Denise Brunkus, illustrator of Junie B Jones books, does an excellent job creating Tyrone and his classroom. Look for the list of class rules as it grows throughout the story. This list was the idea of Laura Bush. Tyrone is based on a student of hers. It is a good story of encouraging the reluctant reader.
