This was my first Koontz book and it was a great read. This book made me laugh out loud many many times - the main character & his family are hilariously witty and are very likeable characters. It follows an interesting & unusual plot, that makes it a real page turner.

If all Koontz books are so good, I'll be an addict!

Whenever I pick up a Dean Koontz book I know that I'm going to need lots of time to read without interuption because once you get started on one of his thrill rides you don't want to get off until the last page. This story is no different & is packed with the kind of thrills & unexpected twists & turns a person comes to enjoy when reading a good thriller. Readers you won't be disappointed!

I bought this book after reading a draft of it at the end of Koontz's book Odd Thomas. Dean Koontz has done it again, has created a character that you can fall in love with and root for. Written with the same humor as his Odd Thomas series, Jimmy Tock and his family must wrestle with the predictions of his Grandfather, 5 terrible predictions made on the night of Jimmy's birth, as his Grandfather dies. The love of family, of sacrifices and choices made to insure the future of the family, is a delightful and sometimes heart-wrenching story that everyone should read.

I've only just started collecting Koontz titles in the last couple of years, and was very happy with this as well. I get my tips for good books from Enter-
tainment Weekly magazine's book critics and from Stephen King, who writes a
column monthly in the mag. This wasn't on his 2006 list, but I read a preview of it at the end of another DK book. Very different story, quick read just
because it's so good.

GREAT READ......If you like Dean Koontz this is an excellent book. Dean Koontz
again uses his mastery of the English language to decribe in great detail all the sight sounds and even the smell of pastries baking. Great character development, as always, you live the story with the main character "Jimmy Tock"
Pick it up...great read...little price...an adventure worth having.

I'm a big Koontz fan and this one was pretty much what I was expecting; I expected to confused for a while, then intrigued, then hooked. Lots of good character interaction and surprises as well as plenty of time left wondering what would happen next.

Not his best but certainly one worth having on the shelf.

As an avid fan of all of Dean Koontz's work, I am always excited to see a new book of his on the store shelves. Life Expectancy is another example of why I keep reading everything this author puts out.

Great characters and a gripping story keep you wanting to turn to the next page and read just one more chapter. My only problem with the book is how fast I finished it.

But thats ok, I can always read another....

Without doubt Dean is my No 1 choice when looking for books, I just wish he could write a book a week, Then I wouldnt have to keep waiting for the next one to come out. Im not going to go into details about the book as if you are like me, I prefer to not know anything untill I start reading about it in the book, I have read every one of his books so far and I love them all.
So as you can probably guess from what I wrote above, I highly Recomend this book.

Great book. Keeps you hooked and very easy to read.

I am really not a reader. I do not usually pick up a book and just start to read it, but it happened with this book. People I work with were all talking about it. I thought it was going to be another book you get half way through and put down. I read the whole thing in about a week and, in most cases, could not put it down. Very well written and you never quite know what is going to happen next. It got me reading more Dean Koontz books and the list is getting longer of the books to read next.
