I am a 46 year old mom and the Wii I purchased after waiting in line at Target overnight is for me ... LOL
I love my Wii and I think it is the best gift I have ever received. My daughter and I played all last night and the stress from the holidays is now desolved.
I highly suggest your purchase and the time it will encourage you to spend with your family. Beware of addiction and happy faces.
Cheers

Wii Is The Perfect Game System For A Family

Do you want to bring your family closer together?... My advice is to buy a Nintendo Wii.. They cost almost 50% less then, the other game systems... And They do have better graphics then, I first anticipated... I own all 3 of the new systems (Wii, Xbox 360, Playstation 3) and to be honest I would rather play my Wii than the Xbox Or Playstaion. My entire family got into playing the Wii (They Normally Are Strongly Against Video Games).. The Wii is the most interactive gaming system on the market.. Nintendo May Have Just Revolutionized The Way Video Games Are Played!! The Motion Sensitive Control Allows Players To Get Up And Get Active!!.. A Little Exercise Is Far Better For Someone Than, The "Old" Way Of Video Gaming (Sitting There Rotating Your Thumbs All Day).. I Originally Purchased A Wii To Give My Little Brother.. But, As Soon As I Hooked It Up For Him, I Was "Blown Away" The Entire System Is The Best System I've Seen In A Long Time!!
If You Can Find A Nintendo Wii, I Strongly Suggest Going Out And Purchasing One..

I Hope This Helps Make Your Choice.. This Is More Than A Video Game System.. It's A Way To Help America Become Less Obese...Consider This Before You Turn Down Your Child's Request...

Don't be fooled by most Nintendo Wii 14 game bundles!!!

BUYER BEWARE!

I cannot believe how many people are shelling out so much money for items that should not cost that much. I myself have recently been doing a lot of research as I just bought a Nintendo Wii system at Toys R' Us but had originally considered buying it on eBay (hence, the reason I created an account in the first place), so I got a pretty good grip on the prices. So let me break it down for you (keep in mind that this article relates only to brand new items):

A Nintendo Wii's retail value (as in just the box: the system bundled with a remote, a nunchuck and Wii Sports (5 sport games included) - along with other components necessary for the console) is about $250 (about $271 including taxes), so due to the unavalability of the system, I would be willing to spend up to around $310 (it must include a receipt) for it on eBay if I just had to have it ($350 tops). Now, you maybe thinking, "Easy for you to say, you already have one!" - in that case, read on to the end of this article for some advice.

Some of you may see that the bundle you could bid on has 14 games in it. Now, most of the 14 game bundles I've seen are just the Nintendo Wii bundle w/ Wii Sports plus Wii Play, which comes with a remote, (some auctions may also include an extra nunchuck). Now the retail value for Wii Play is around $50+tax (and an extra nunchuck is about $20+tax). Therefore, the entire bundle is about $325 without the nunchuck (around $347 with the nunchuck). If you just have to have it, I personally would only be willing to pay up to $450 (w/receipt) when the extra nunchuck is included ($500 tops).

Now, if you're at the point where you're willing to pay much more than you should (even more than I've suggested) in order to get the Wii, my ADVICE is this: A bundle that has more than just Wii Sports is better, but if you can get 2 or more actual video games* (because Wii Play is really one video game advertised as 9 games) added on to the bundle, you're bidding on a much better deal; for example: if the auction title said "Nintendo Wii Bundle w/ 8 games and receipt(s)" and when you click on it, you see that it has -- a Nintendo Wii bundle box (including Wii Sports) ($250+tax retail value) plus "Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games" ($50+tax retail value), "Tony Hawk's: Proving Ground" ($50+tax retail value), "Bleach: Shattered Blade" ($50+tax retail value), and the receipt(s) -- this together is about $400+tax retail value, which is a much better deal than getting the 14 game bundle that has Wii Play and an extra nunchuck (again, around $347 total). For my example I would be willing to pay up $550 ($575-600 tops). As you can see, you can be more confident to bid if the auction included real video games* as I like to call anything that's not Wii Play or Carnival Games, and the more games the merrier (especially if they come with a receipt) - if you're going to pay a lot, at least bid on bundles that get you a better deal because less people know about them and you're paying more for something that actually costs more.

So BOTTOM LINE, since every place is sold out, it's understandable to pay more for the bundles; just make sure your bundle comes with more real video games* (see previous paragraph if you skipped to the bottom of the article) - in a lot of cases, it may be a better deal to bet on the bundles where the auction title says it comes with 7-13 games rather than the more common 14 game bundle.

I have all 3 systems. Wii..Xbox360..PS3

XBOX360
PROS

Best graphics out of all systems.
Best games of all the systems (as far as I know)
Best online play of all the systems

CONS

Tends to occasionally freeze
Red Light problems
Adds on (HD Dvd Player $200)
Heats up fast (Need to Buy Intercool Fan)

PS3
PROS

Great graphics(not better than 360)
Sixaxis controller(not better than wii's controller)
Price has come down (Includes Blue-Ray Dvd)

CONS

People say wait a year good games will come out, sorry, not gonna happen. went to IGN looked at release dates and previews. All I saw was MGS 4 and thats it. Personally I don't think the MGS series is half as good as the Halo series.
Heats up Fast (Need to Buy intercool Fan)

Wii
PROS

Motion controller
Virtual console can be fun
Games are pretty good(will be great in the future)
Price Point under $270
Fun for Everyone all Ages (Its like a workout playing the Wii)

Cons

Terrible online play
Gamecube graphics
Doesn't support HD
No DVD Player

SO IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR GRAPHICS AND ON-LINE PLAY XBOX360 HANDS DOWN..IF YOU WANT A FUN AND INTERACTIVE CONSOLE AND DON'T CARE ABOUT GRAPHICS TO MUCH THE Wii..I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM PS3 UNLESS YOU WANT A BLUE-RAY DVD PLAYER (OVER RATED)

I SOLD MY PS3 TO EBGAMES I LOST $100 (NOT TO BAD)AND BOUGHT SOME Wii/XBOX360 GAMES!

Really Great Way To Entertain Guests

I have to say that Nintendo did a really good job at allowing people to come together. It really is hilarious and definitely entertaining to see friends and family act goofy. I would definitely recommend this to someone who plans to hosts a lot of parties and events at their house. Nintendo has a line of great games, many that are children-friendly, that you can put in for hours and hours. However, I do not recommend this game for graphic heavy players. Definitely, as always, Nintendo lacks graphics for the sake of playability. Which isn't always a bad thing. Nintendo knows that their graphics aren't amazing, that isn't what they are trying to accomplish. But there playability is absolutely amazing. Use the Wii-motes as tennis rackets, gold clubs, a steering wheel, a sword, etc. Overall, I'd say get one if you were a big party host. If not, don't bother, it isn't as fun playing by yourself.

- out of 5 (5 being excellent) -
Playability: 5
Graphics: 3
Controls: 5
Games: 4

Overall, this is a great present for kids and younger teens. It is a way for them to enjoy video games in a way other then sitting on the couch for 3+ hours. They will be active, and I have to admit, some games even require you to sweat. Really great system.

Buying Wii on Ebay. READ!!
by: mjr891 (55Feedback is 50 to 99) Review created: 11/25/07

When buying a Wii on ebay it sounds like a great deal considering what the console comes with. Wii sports, Wii remote, ect. But I see people paying in the are of 340.00 - 370.00 for a Wii.. Now if you buy a BRAND NEW, NEVER BEEN OPENED Wii in a store it comes with Wii sports, remote, and attachment, and its only 250.00. 5 Sports games in a description on ebay really means 1 game disk with 5 MINI games that are all really shells of the sports they represent. While Wii sports is great, it is not really 5 sports games, but only a sample disk of what the Wii is all about. Just buy a Wii in a store is what I am trying to say because is comes with everything and is usually less. If you are looking to buy online you can usually get an xbox 360 for 100 dollars less than its worth on ebay, but make sure it has the hard drive in it.

EXTREMELY FUN AND ADDICTING

This console is extremely fun and addicting. If you have got any of the old Nintendo systems or are looking for a new console then this is the one for you. Sure the graphics aren't great but that's easy to look past once you start playing it. The wireless controller lets you swing you arm to hit a tennis ball with a tennis racket or slash your sword at approaching enemies or steer left and right as you race your friends. The internet play isn't the greatest on some games but overall it's great. (except for the fact that you can't talk to anyone) There are a lot of really fun games for this system and young children can learn how to play extremely easily. This is a great family system and will have you playing it for a long long time. The system isn't as expensive as the Xbox or PS3. The games don't cost as much to buy either. Also online play is completely free! This is the best Nintendo console that has ever been released. I definately without a doubt in my mind give this a 5/5. Please vote if you found this helpful thanks!

Nintendo Wii

Great system. It is fun to play because you almost fell like you are in the game. The Wii is also very easy to set up once you get it. A couple bad thing are that it's graphics arn't nearly as good as PS3. Alnother bad thing about the wii is it it still hard to get in the store unless you want to pay a lot more money on Ebay for it. The Nintendo Wii was a great idea. The Wii sports come free with the system, which are a lot of fun to play.. Even though they are not the most realistic graphics for the game, the idea that you can swing the bat just like you are playing a real baseball game. Tennis is a great one too, you can hit the ball, backhand and forehand.

The way it works is, there is a sensor bar that reads the movement of the controllers that gets placed right underneath your television. The sensor box is not that big, so it is not that noticeable when you are watching TV. The sensor bar allows the controller to respond wirelessly with up to four Wii Remotes. The Wii Remote will reach up to 30 feet.

I would suggest playing at least 5-10 feet away from anything in the room, especially for sports games, since you will be swinging the controller around a lot. You should make sure you wear the safety wrist strap since you do not want your controller going through your TV..That wouldn't be much fun. :)

If you are looking for a third generation system that shines with its graphics, the Wii would not be the system to get. If you are looking for a good party system, that you can play interactive video games together, you will really enjoy the Wii, over any other third generation system. The only negative thing about the Wii is that they do not have many popular games out for the Wii right now, as where the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 have those kind of games with better graphics. If you do not care about Graphics and just want a fun inexpensive system to play(comparing with the other two), I would go with the Nintendo Wii.

If you have any questions about this system that I did not mention here, please contact me, I would be more than happy to answer all of your questions about this system. If I did not mention a certain detail that you would like to know, just tell me and I will add it here.. Thank You
