One of my All-Time Favourites!!! Odd Thomas has it all, a likeable head character, a great supporting cast and a superb storyline. I purchased Odd Thomas after reading the first chapter in Maxim magazine, I had to wait a month for the book to come out, but it was well worth the wait. Odd Thomas will grab hold of you and pull you in. You will not be able to put it down. Final Verdict: Borrow or Buy: A Definate Buy!!! This book is great whether you are a fan of Dean Koontz or not. Be sure to check out Forever Odd and the upcoming Brother Odd (December, 2006). PLEASE VOTE IF YOU FIND THIS REVIEW HELPFUL. Thank you.

Odd Thomas is a page turner, not the usual scary stuff but excellent in suspense. Odd Thomas is a lovable young man who can see and understand the dead to solve what were mystery that maybe at hand. He is sensitive to the needs of the dead and the living. In some aspects as you read this book you wonder why there couldn't be people like him in real life, and you begin to feel that you know him. Things in your everyday world can keep us wondering why something is happening, why there is no explanation. What does it take to solve a mystery? What is that bumping sound caused by? What was that blurred vision you saw off to the side. Put yourself in Odd Thomas shoes for these are the things that follows him everyday of his life.

Now I am addicted and have purchased the others and will purchase the new book once it is released. Honestly, if I don't have my daily dose, I get antsy. I highly recommend this book, but be forewarned, you will become an addicted Dean Koontz and Odd Thomas fan!

This purchase was for the lst of the series and I immediately looked on Ebay, since this was an older book and got a good deal. Loved reading about this guy "Odd" and have since purchsed the 3rd one of the series on "Odd" from Ebay, also.

| You Haven't Read ODD THOMAS Before! | |

| 1 out of 1 people found the following review helpful. Let's face it, there are just so many plots around, and we have all read them in many versions. I promise you that you haven't read ODD THOMAS before (unless, of course, you have read ODD THOMAS before.) Dean Koontz is a master of fish-out-of-water fiction, but ODD THOMAS is fresh and new. I could not do the plot justice, but this is a scary, intelligent, and funny book. Once you have read ODD THOMAS, you will be so happy to know a second installment, FOREVER ODD, is now available. Even then, you will be wishing for more. JANN SNYDER | |

Dean Koontz held me captivated by his chararacter, Odd Thomas. Throughout the book it was suspenseful and thrilling, yet human and romantic. I especially loved that it was written in 1st person. The ending wowed me, caught me off guard, yet left me satsified, which is quite a feat, as most books have endings that leave me feeling like something was missing. Overall, this book is TERRIFIC and I cannot wait to read the next in the series, Forever Odd and the book that is new in the series, Brother Odd. If they are half as good as this first, they are definately worthy of their cover price.

| 1 out of 1 people found the following review helpful. This is Dean Koontz at his best!!! The very compelling hero of the story is Odd Thomas(yes, that is his name). He is just and ordinary guy in a small town working an ordinary job as a short order cook.... but Odd has one extraordinary trait,,,,,he can see dead people. He interacts with the dead people very naturally as he has be used to seeing them and isnt frightened. The plot of the story keeps the reader interested and moves along quickly. There are a few segments that seems a little wordy but al in all a GREAT READ! | |
