Forensic sculptor, Eve Duncan's dangerous flirtation with Luis Montalvo, a powerful Columbian arms dealer almost made her betray Detective Joe Quinn a while back and left some bitterness between the two men. But now both men have to put aside their rivalry to go after Henry Kistle, the man who killed Eve's daughter. Eve and Joe are in a cat and mouse game with the killer, but even though Luis is cooperating, it boils down to who is the most macho and can catch him first. To Eve this means one thing....it is up to her to avenge her daughter, Bonnie, and bring down the killer herself or die trying. Ms. Johansen is a superb storyteller that will have you reading this book non-stop. Imagine losing a child and having the killer call and taunt you on the phone all the time? Absolutely gripping! | |

If you are a fan of the Eve Duncan thrillers that Iris Johansen writes then this is a must have. Though the nature of the beast or killer in this book is very disturbing the book is guaranteed to keep you going. The play of emotions between Eve and Joe keeps you guessing if their realtionship will survive her obsession with finding her daughter's remains. Mantalvo returns to lend his interference to Eve and Joe's relationship with his obsession to have Eve. Also if you read Iris's last book Pandora's Daughter you will meet a returning character from that wonderful story as well. All in all this is just as good as any of the Eve Duncan books. You will love the twist at the end. I cant wait for her next book to come out and pick up where she left off. | |
