| 15 out of 27 people found the following review helpful. I recently saw this video tape (yes, I said I watched a VIDEO TAPE) and was completely blown away by how superb it is. There's a reason Walt Disney's name is synonymous with quality family entertainment, and this movie exemplifies that in spades. This is the first ever full-length animated feature, but that doesn't mean the people who produced it were novices. At the time this movie was released, the Disney studio had been producing high quality animation for many years. Some of the Silly Symphony shorts produced during the mid to late 1930's are among the greatest animated shorts ever made, even to this day. Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs leaps off the screen in vibrant color, and how many 1937 films can you say THAT about? From the first frame to the last, it will completely dazzle you with intense characters, phenomenal songs, and memorable imagery. Every hand-drawn, hand-painted frame is a masterpiece, and there are 24 per second, 60 seconds per minute for 83 minutes. (That's 119,520 for those of you scoring at home.) Snow White is such a magnificent animated film that it's often overlooked that this is one of the greatest musicals of all time. Such songs as "Whistle While You Work", "Heigh Ho", "Someday My Prince Will Come", "I'm Wishing" and "With A Smile And A Song" rate with the best songs from the greatest Broadway or Movie musicals. If you want a treat, check out Barbara Cook's version of "With A Smile And A Song" on her "Disney Album" (if you can find it), and Diana Ross and The Supreme's rocking version of "Heigh Ho", which is also tough to find but worth tracking down. Unfortunately, this movie is sitting on a lot of people's shelves, sometimes even in its original shrinkwrap. The owners of those tapes and dvd's will scramble to the movie theaters and video stores to watch vastly inferior movies, while one of the greatest masterpieces of all time is just sitting there. My recommendation - if you don't own this movie, BUY IT. A gently used copy can be had on eBay for less than the price of a cup of coffee at one of those fancy coffee joints, even WITH postage. Even the DVD, while pricey, will set you back less than dinner and a movie for two. With all the extras the DVD has, you could be busy for days. If you do own this movie, WATCH IT. Gather up the family, call some friends and enjoy this true cinematic Masterpiece together. Preferably with some soup, some gooseberry pie, and a nice, juicy, shiny red apple. | |

You wind up routing for the good guys and sometimes the bad guys, or character's in the movie. There never too long, or too short, just right. I suggest sitting down and watching a Disney movie, of your choice, today. Believe me, it's well worth the time. | |

If not for your sake, if not for your childrens sake, then for the sake of your Grandchildren and theres, A DVD lasts Forever - it's like a dimond only cheeper and more entertaining. The true beauty of this film is in it's wonderful artwork and in the lessens it teaches, Like not taking things from strangers, the true worth of friendship, and that it is very easy to control a dwarf (not to mention make them your slave, they feed snow white and everything, I didn't see her pounding away i the old dimond mine....) | |

I'm not sure how to review this .....i will say that service was quick and the tape was in very good shape...it was also mailed to another address as it was a gift....i was very pleased with the service....but very upset with the courtsey of the seller....i never recived a feed back from them....when i sent 2 e-mails in a month-- 2 weeks apart...to inquire as to why a feed back had not been left i recived this back in return.... Im a very busy person.. Sorry I haven't done it. I will leave neutral or negative feedback if you pester me again it has been almost 2 months and still no feed back....I left an immediate positive feed back for them.....i can understand someone being busy...i can not understand rudeness....i never thought that 2 emails 2 weeks apart as pestering..... i guess that if you value....a positive feed back and quick response this is not the person to deal with....although as i said the shipment was prompt and in excellent condition.... | |

To be honest, I was never crazy about Snow White's voice BUT my grand-daughter (3+ years old) simply loves this movie...so much so that when she lost the first video I purchased off e-bay, I had to purchase a second. It's getting harder and harder to find videos in stores...most are now DVDs. I find that children easily scratch DVDs. Little ones often want to do things themselves to show how big they're getting and they tend to drop and step on things in the process. Because of this, I feel videos are the way to go...very child-friendly. | |

It was wonderful to share her expressions of wonder and laughter as well as her snuggling close when the "scary" parts were on when she watched this classic for the first time. I am not sure which of us enjoyed it more, but I do know we both made lasting memories. I recommend this movie to anyone who wants to relive great memories and pass them on to the next generation. | |
