I bought the book because I have read all of John Grisham's books. He is an excellant writer and holds your interest throughout the book. Although I did not like this book as well as some of his other books, I did enjoy it. The political field is not my favorite thing to read about. After this book I feel even more strongly that politics isn't for me. | |

Mr. Grisham puts a believer on both sides of the issue. It is a book that makes you think. To question what you think you know, and see what other may see. I loved this book. It is by far his best work in 10 years. For all of the true believers out there this is a must read. I loved this book and will read it again in a few years just for fun. | |

John Grisham is my favorite author in fiction as well as super in his offering of true events. I have all his books, plus most of them on tape or CD, his movie and all the movies made from his books. He keeps me turning pages anxious to find what his characters will do. His presentation of facts and court proceedings are exciting but within reason, not the vivid imagination of many writers in his field. 30 years in law enforcement plus almost 10 more in security earned me many, many hours in courtrooms, criminal and civil. His presentations of cases A to Z are so "actual fact" that it is easy to forget you are reading fiction. THE APPEAL is a bit different but brings back memories of election tactics used during my 55 years of voting. It is very much a good read with much more fact than fiction. My second reading was better than the first. | |

another good book by Grisham. If you have read his others, you could almost fill in the blanks, but still a good read. I will buy the next book he writes. | |
