Not a good book. I could not get involved in the characters, plot, or story line. I quit listening to it after 3 discs. Not your usual good John Grisham book.

Without spoiling the plot it is a story that will leave you wanting more. This one is up there with the rest of his classics like: Painted House, The Client, The Firm and others.

A few exceed my expectations and "The Appeal" is definitely in my top "5" picks of his works. I must admit I did not care for the ending, but I must say it definitely "got me" as I normally can predict the endings. If you are a Grisham fan you will enjoy this novel, or if you've never read his works before this will make you a fan for life.

Extremely interesting plot. Lots of corrolation to current election where money talks and truth is stretched on a regular basis.Book is well read. Glad Grisham has returned to a field he excels in writing about - the law profession.

I bought the audio edition and got my money's worth and then some. I like Grisham's characters. Although Grisham wrote the book to make a case for appointed rather than elected judges, the entertainment trumped the preachiness. If you want to make some hours fly by, buy this book.

Grisham rules! Classic Grisham behind the legal scene. Powerful plot. Believable characters. A powerful chemical company pollutes the town's water. The resident's are dying from cancer and they take the company to court and lose. The Appeal is a gripping saga of greed and corruption! A must read!

I love John Grisham and loved this book. I believe these things are happening in the U.S. and am very sad about that. I would have preferred a happy ending, but believe this could be factual events. Highly recommend this audiobook.

| 1 out of 1 people found the following review helpful. I like John Grisham's early work. This one was close to as good, it did have a velin and the moral side but they didn't seem to get as close to each other as in his early works. To many people in between for my taste......... | |

I enjoy listening to Grisham's books. I was excited when a new one came out. As usual the writing was great but I was disappointed in the ending!

This is the Best Book he has written since the "Last Juror" This follows in the same footsteps as The Summons, Last Juror and Many others as the "Lawyer" we've come to love in John Grisham's Stories!! I started reading the First Paragraph, then to the next page and That's when I knew..He had done it again!! I couldn't put this book down. Same Mystery, Same down and dirty Businesses up to No good and the Same Victims, Same Southern People & Towns!! Plus, I love the little snickers now and then he adds for laughter! I giggled a couple of times or so through this book!! I loved it!! Worth every Penny & More!! All I have to say is "He's BACK!! And I'm so happy for that!! :):):) You'll Love this Book!!
