Now I will buy my own copy because I would like to read it again and make notes in it. When I first started reading it, it actually brought tears to my eyes because everything the author says rang so deeply true and seemed to be speaking straight to the center of my soul - at the same time written in a very understandable and simple style, easy and pleasant to read. Anybody in a life crisis or anyone who worries too much on a daily basis about past and future will find this book a real treasure. One of the most helpful features of this book to me is that it does not recommend (like most other meditation books) that you sit in formal meditation regularly, but teaches you ways how to reconnect to the Now during everyday-activities. And the best thing is, as far I am concerned, the taught methods actually work most of the time. Since I currently don't find the time or patience for formal meditation sessions, this book is exactly right for me.

Once my husband and I had both read the book, we knew we had to own it. We also found the workbook that goes with Tolle's ouutlook. There's really nothing new in Tolle's theories. They've been around and used in Eastern spirituality for thousands of years. Tolle simply put it in simple, readable terms. His message is to live in the Now. Living in the here and now will make you at ease with yourself and the rest of the world.

Basically, it shows you that only the present moment is important, and that nothing else matters except NOW. I could have gone without the Jesus and religious overtones, but all in all, this is a great read, well written, I read it in 3 days lol!

I wanted to find a way to live a happy, productive life on a daily basis. I feel this book has the answer. Elenor Roosevelt said "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift that's why its called the present"....I never truly felt I understood this quote until reading "A Power of Now" by Eckart Tolle. He also has the Guide to living in the Power of Now which is an excelletn companion to this book. I recommend this book to anyone who has been saddened on a daily basis by the way the world seems to be heading. Excellent is the rating I give this book. Most everyone would enjoy reading.

This book is so well written and helps bring about an understanding of how negative factors are working in our lives and how we might overcome them. It is a book that enlightens. One will have a different perception of life, the mind, and one's true self when finished reading. One reading is not enough, as this is also a great reference book. I highly recommend this book as a wonderful awakening. A family member had read it and now several others in the family have either read it or are in the process. Do yourself a favor and buy it right now!

| Now&Wow: the Being In The Now Reminder Tool | |

| 3 out of 3 people found the following review helpful. I would like to draw your attention to our website : www.nowwow.org where we present our NowWow reminder tool. This tool is meant to work as an alarm in your PC and reminds you at specific time intervals to be in the Now. It was inspired by Eckhart Tolle's The Power of Now. Because how many of us, while working with the computer, just forget to be in the now from time to time and go on and on and on. This tool helps you to stop now and then and improve your well being and creativity. And the tool sometimes gives you a well deserved Oracle message as well. Probably there are many people who would say they won't need a tool like this, because they control their being in the now themselves. But for us it works quite well! Please have a look. | |

| 3 out of 3 people found the following review helpful. This is an excellent book for beginer. I like the way the author explain things in simple language, staying with the truth (not bias toward one religion or the other). I've been practicing meditation for over 15 years and seen quite a bit of truth in this book and would highly recommend it to anyone. The begining 3 chapter are a bit slow then itpick up in the next four chapters; The rest is a little to lengthy for me. I was just searching the web for some meditation book to read and somehow stumble on tis one. I'm glad I did because most books in this field are boring to me, this one is like a breath of fresh air. | |

It's the type of book to be referred to often. It's about living each moment as it comes, which has great benefits. If you have problems with anxiety, intrusive thoughts etc... this book has solutions. Tolle talks about the ego and pain in new ways, in ways I had never considered or read about, that I found very interesting and helpful. I thought the book was deep and simple and found myself agreeing with his ideas. A spiritual book for those looking for peace and escape from the mind. Well worth reading!
